David John Frenkil has been involved in the energy industry since working on the white collar criminal defense team representing Enron executives in 2004.  His primary areas of focus include cleantech, energy efficiency and natural gas.

He provides counsel on transactional, project development and regulatory matters as an attorney with the law firm Van Ness Feldman.  In previous roles with the U.S. Department of Energy and SunEdison, he worked on issues regarding electric transmission development, power purchase agreements (PPAs) and federal energy financing.

Frenkil has advised current and prospective state legislators in Maryland and California on energy development issues, while also consulting a U.S. biofuels company and South American landowner on carbon mitigation strategies.

He has presented at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, Tulane University Law School and George Washington University, as well as conferences for professionals in the cleantech, green building, and government contracting industries.
