About EfficiencyLaw.com
EfficiencyLaw.com was launched in October 2009 with the purpose of providing news and updates on issues related to energy efficiency and cleantech. At the time, the U.S. Congress was expected to pass a climate bill within a matter of months and world leaders intended to sign a treaty at a December 2009 conference in Copenhagen that would have succeeded the Kyoto Protocol, which is set to expire in 2012. The outcome on both fronts was, at best, disappointing; and, over two years later, the status quo remains largely the same.
With domestic and international climate policy inching forward at a snail’s pace, EfficiencyLaw.com continues to publish commentary on government policy, business developments and cultural perspectives related to energy efficiency and cleantech. We have been fortunate to be joined by such thought leaders in the energy arena as Michael A. Levi, Byron Kennard, Edward Burtynsky and Michael B. Gerrard. As expressed in the mission statement for this website, posted when we first went live in October 2009, we will continue to “contribute to the ever-increasing public discourse surrounding energy efficiency and cleantech in a time when the global economy faces a transformational shift to a carbon-constrained future.”
